What to keep in mind
After rain the dirt road can become harder, and stones near the water can be slippery. Footwear with grip, a layer against wind and spray, waterproof protection for phones or cameras and willingness to stop at the safe limit are useful. Do not step onto wet edges for a photograph.
Fitting it into the day
Gega is often combined with Озеро Рица: горное зеркало Абхазии, but that can turn into a long mountain day. Leave margin for the return road and decide in advance which stop to drop if weather, fatigue or traffic slows the route.
