Alakhadzy Beach: open shore between Pitsunda and Gagra
Alakhadzy Beach is a long open coastal stretch between Pitsunda and Gagra, where space matters more than infrastructure. It suits an independent stop if you plan for pebble, wind, sun, swell and no guaranteed services.
Alakhadzy feels more open and wind-exposed than Pitsunda’s cove beaches. The shore can be coarse-pebble, entry varies by section, and swimming decisions are best made only after checking the sea on arrival.
Coast without a showcase
The main quality here is space: a long shoreline, distant mountains and less of an organised resort feel. That is not a drawback, but it requires self-sufficiency: water, pebble-friendly shoes, sun protection, a rubbish bag and a wind backup matter more than a perfect image.
How to swim
Do not choose a section from photos alone. First check swell, current, depth, stones and the way out of the water. If the sea is unsettled, keep the beach for walking and views rather than turning the stop into a required swim.
What to combine it with
On the road, you can add Остановки Церетели: советская мозаика у дороги or exterior viewing around «Касатка» у моря: индустриальный силуэт только снаружи, without entering closed or doubtful areas. For a more standard beach format, compare it with Центральный пляж Пицунды: бухта, сосны и спокойное купание, and use Пицундская сосновая роща: тень, хвоя и море рядом for shade.
Details
Practical: Alakhadzy is an open shore without a stable service setup.
- Bring water, a hat, shoes for pebble and a rubbish bag.
- Do not swim in strong swell, doubtful current, poor visibility or fatigue.
- Children need constant supervision: depth and bottom change by section.
- If pairing it with Винодельня «Шато Абхаз»: дегустационный формат с проверкой расписания, do not plan swimming after tasting.
